No, NIS will continue to develop for Sony platforms into the forseeable future.

Considering NIS's love for the switch, I'm beginning to think they've lost all affinity with the Sony ecosystem. The NISA president's recent remarks doesn't help matters either. I only think the Disgaea 1 port is coming to the PS4 because it's been in development for at least a year.

They're release games on the PS4. NISA obviously has some relationship (real or imagined) with NEA. NIS itself seems to primary develop games for Sony platforms. I doubt they'd let a subsidiary stop releasing games on the platform with the largest install base.

Also opening post conflates NIS and NISA

NISA is just jumping where people are eating his Tohou games and other low budget games for $50, they pretty much lost every big niche IP. seem like his last PS4 games are underperforming, i don't expect they go Switch only though. NIS is diferent, they are barely making software to care about.

I’d venture to say the vast majority of their fanbase (and I say fanbase lightly - it’s more correct to say fans of Japanese games that tolerate their s*** because it’s either that or nothing) is on Sony’s systems so abandoning them wouldn’t be too wise.

True, that's what will keep them on Sony platforms if anything. I'm actually surprised that their switch games sell at all, especially in the west. Nintendo fans usually buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games.

after how the NIS president threw sony under the bus in that one interview, i imagine they really do want to abandon the sony platform.

(was it the president? i dont remember)

NIS have been on Sony for a long time now. I doubt they would suddenly jump over to Nintendo and stop developing games for Sony consoles as a whole. They will most likely release games for both Sony and Nintendo rather than Nintendo only.
Currently playing: Atelier Lydie&Suelle (PS4) Bloodstained: CotM (Vita) June releases: Clannad (PS4)
