I would love #FE to get a second life on Switch, uncensored with the speaking parts dubbed this time. Atlus can’t do anything on that game without Nintendo’s backing though, and it seems like Nintendo would rather forget that game even exits. Apparently even the Japanese audience rejected it.

While even I will agree that those localization changes were a bit over the top it doesn't really change the bulk of the game. Looks to have been well received in Japan to me. 4/5 stars on Amazon Japan which is higher than Xenoblade Chronicles X.

It didn't set sales records but it didn't sell that poorly in Japan for a third party anime game on a console no one bought to play third party anime games. The Wii U was a Nintendo box and this is barely a game related to Nintendo.

"Big" third party games on Wii U opening week sales in Japan:
Bayonetta 2: 39k
Fatal Frame V: 28k
TMS #FE: 26k
Wonderful 101: 5k
Yakuza 1+2 HD: 2k

Wouldn't say it was rejected. Just on the wrong console.

Can't ignore it huh?
I wonder why?

It's a mystery. People here swear the Vita is best and Switch is garbage. It should be Nintendo looking out, Vita's final form hasn't been unlocked yet.

The mystery port is there for when the time is right

Except that the mystery port has been gone since 2014.

It's 2018 and Vita 1000s still have it so

IIRC the mystery port was debunked as tv-out, hackers checked it out:

"can we... output video through it?" Qualified no. It seems like a general purpose port, and I could not find any continually between and known video outputs and any of the pins on the connector. However, if it's general purpose, a software update/feature could support outputting video.

(Not linking to the site as it's against ToS, so I've just quoted it).

Talking about the Switch here is like going into a Vegan restaurant and demanding that everyone discuss their favorite type of Steak....

Switch is the spiritual successor to the Vita
it would be like going to a Vegan restaurant and talking about new improved versions of Vegan foods

Imagine being this utterly delusional....

I know right ... he gave me a good laugh though.

The switch is the gameboy 2017, with stupid removable joy cons, and it docks ... woah!

Now it has cardboard peripherals also. :-p

I am just glad Nintendo Switch is keeping the PSP's console gaming on the go dream alive.

After the stuff Sony pulled with the Vita, I am actually kind of impressed that that did not deter Nintendo from going full steam into that territory.

Sony, mobile phone gaming did not kill the Vita. Never BS with that excuse again, ever!

for the dirty casuals, it kinda did. Plus mobile games are intended to literally get the player addicted, to make you feel the urge to play it each day. That can easily take away all your free time outside.

Handhelds have always appealed to the casual/kid market much more than consoles, and that market all went to mobile in the last decade. Its by far the biggest reason for the death of the pure handheld market.
