I don't know for sure, but it seems there are lots of complaints about the 2000 joysticks, runaway and ghost input.

I have two 1000s, used extensively with traditional joystick-breaking hunter games.

I've replaced several PSP joysticks (Monster Hunter is the worst offender), many 3DS joysticks (Monster Hunter again), no problems in four years of OG Vita with multi-hundreds of hours each of MHFU, four editions of God Eaters, Lord of Apocalypse, Toukiden Kiwami and 2, Freedom Wars, etc.
If ballet was easy, it would be pointe-less

I've been playing with the original since launch and everything is still working like it was bought yesterday. I love the Glacier White 2000 and I'm sure I'm going to buy it someday, but at the same time I'm afraid to switch to the 2000 model because the original still gives me the "Wow" effect just looking at the quality of the color it recreates with the OLED screen. I mean, the brightness and the cleanness of the colors is one of the main reasons PsVita is one of my favourite consoles, I don't really want to play with a downgraded version. Please, tell me the 2000 screen is fantastic to look at as well.

These are flat out false, especially the build quality bit. The 2000 has an objectively cheaper build quality, and it shows. As for the battery life, the 2000 has up to an hour extra battery life. An improvement to be sure, but it's not "much better".

1 extra hour is a lot for a handheld

No it's not. It's a noticeable improvement, but it's not "much better". If it were 2-3 hours more, then that would be much better.

I own both.

2000 all the way. Not just for future-proofing (you really don't want to rely on a proprietary data cable), but it's much more comfortable. I even like the screen more on the 2000.

Well I've never owned 2000. I still have my launch Vita. I just love my OLED vita. I also have a large OLED + LED TV. And OLED is just the best. The pixels themselves light up so you get the purest color because you don't need a white light behind it.

I've owned both.

2000 uses same charger as my phone means one less cord I have to carry. Also has slightly longer battery life which is key for me as I almost always play while one the go.

2000 is my vote.
