A price drop is useless without great games, which the Vita doesn't have any yet so far.

Sony doesn't really need to drop the price. Retailers are effectively doing it for them by offering gift cards, free games, memory cards etc.

And it's clearly not working. At all.

Yeah .. it is not very hopeful. All the fanboys were saying LBP was great before it tanked in sales.

Now their hopes are pinned on COD and AC. My bet is .. COD is not going to do that great because it is made by a bad company. AC .. is probably the only hope.

What do you mean "before?" As it if stopped being great the second the sales reports came in...

The professional and independent reviewers have also said that it's great. The people who are playing it say it's great. Of course, most people do not own the game, and cannot say whether or not it's great because they haven't even played it.

Is it any surprise that the game didn't get a lot of sales when the hardware sales are so low in the first place? It's not like people are going to buy the game without first owning the system, and it's a given that not every single person with a Vita will buy any particular game.

When it has a bundle for the Vita and pushed PS3 systems, Yes. Looks like nost of the 55k sales in the NPD (five week tracking) were pushed by the Madden bundles.

So we see where this is going.

And for **** and giggles: New Japanese bundles were announced.

I dont know about you, but it already looks like a hidden price drop in this years bundles. Come on, you're getting the vita, comes with a game (AC, BO etc) and a memory card. These bundles are steals personally and cant wait to snag one. Maybe a price drop early next year or near the summer.

I mean "great enough to help move vita hardware". Obviously that does not happen.

It is not like people cannot buy the system to enjoy the game, if it is so great. It is not "great" enough. Moreover, Vita has a world wide installed based of >2.2M. It sold like less than 40k in the US, and 6k (first week) in Japan.

So the game is so great that only a small minority of vita owners bought it?
