Can you hook up the Vita to your HD TV so you can play it on your TV?

I was just wondering seeing with special component cords you could hook up the PSP to a HD TV.

no but I wish you could maybe a third party hdmi?
PHOENIXZERO 10 years ago#3
No and third party doesn't matter. And the games would look like **** on a HDTV.

Well is there even a port on the Vita for a supposed HDMI hookup?

PSP slim introduced TV out and through component cables the games looked terrible. I imagine Vita games would look a bit better but still not great. The Vita doesnt have TV out but maybe the Vita 2nd edition will.

I play 720p upscaled to 1080p.

Looks fine to me, 544p would look fine if someone has a 720p TV.

But the TV would have worse color and black reproduction then the Vita screen.

Dev kits have HDMI out, however the Vita will likely be able to do Video Out later from the accessory port.

Well I hope they make an HDMI out cable for the accessory port then...

Well some of us would rather have the option of playing on an HDTV than not.

I wouldn't be surprised if they added that in a revision to screw the early adapters.

Yeah, it wouldn't be a bad option to have though at the same time, it'd cause issues with touch controls. I've said it in the past and I'll say it again, I wouldn't at all be surprised if TV Out is something that could be added with a firmware update, certainly would make a use for the accessory port. I was thinking it'd use the multipurpose connector until I realized there was an accessory port at the top and the slot next to the game card slot wasn't for the memory card. <_<

Meh, 720p sure but 1080p while might be passable, would probably look worse than PSP games on a SDTV.
