Oghma Infinium/XP glitch DOES still work after the patch.

The only reason it isn't working properly is because the bookshelves are glitched.


Just use a chest or cupboard drawer or whatever else and it will work just fine.
I'm using the chest in the housecarls room in Breezehome, same principle, open the chest screen, read the book, store the book, remove the book, repeat.

Just to make the directions clearer, here's the updated process below.

You may want to SAVE beforehand as it's easy to make a mindless mistake.
-Maybe even make a completely NEW save, because you might end up choosing perks that you wish
you had foregone. (There are, what - 251 perks in the game? Right now, the max level 81. So you can only
choose 32% of the perks available, I believe.) -Just a FYI/heads-up.

Obviously, have the Oghma Infinium on you.

STEP 1. Activate the Chest/Wardrobe/End Table.
STEP 2. While in the furniture menu, scroll to the BOOKS section of your inventory.
STEP 3. Read the Oghma Infinium, choose a path.
STEP 4. Without leaving the furniture menu, STORE the Oghma Infinuim in the furniture.
STEP 5. Exit the furniture menu completely.
STEP 6. Activate the furniture & TAKE the book.
STEP 7. Repeat from STEP 2.

I really hope they do not remove this glitch.

After restarting twice because I was unhappy with my character (Especially when I realized that the Light Armor smithing tree is a waste of time since the weapons do not come close to Daedric and again when I stupidly forgot that I did not need to have illusion magic because I could simply make an invisibility potion) I approve of being able to quickly recover my levels...also because had I did this on my own, I'd never have a pure thief. Pickpocket and lockpick are a waste of time. You can buy way more lockpicks than you'll ever break and if you have to pickpocket you can just use a potion or enchanted armor pieces.

This way I was able to play a pure thief without wasting hours of my time grinding pickpocket etc etc.

Plus, you never need any of those perks either, they are just novelty.

yes you do those spells cost WAY to much mp its a blessing to get master training perk for at least 2 or 3 schools

I would just like to point out that saving before you do this is VERY IMPORTANT since it seems a bit unstable. It was working fine for me before the patch but today 2 things happened.

1. On one character, i did it, and it worked, but then that book shelf was permanently broken. I could no longer select it to put ANYTHING on it, let alone the Oghma.

2. Just now on my main character i tried it, and after i put the Oghma back on the shelf, it disappeared from the shelf and my inventory, and also broke the shelf, same way as above.

I didn't care that much since i already got my use out of it with that char, but yeah just thought i'd warn you it seems a bit unpredictable now.

Or... you could not use a bookshelf at all. I've used an end table. Works for me everytime.

Well every guide for this glitch i've read seemed to imply you needed a bookshelf. But if it works with an end table or any type of chest then thats great.

Yeah, Sellus, the guides you read were old, that was the whole purpose of this
topic's creation. i.e. "The patch has now broken the old way of performing
the glitch, but here's a new method."

This topic was apparently made as a rebuttal to the other topic named
