Aerin now swims with the fishes, within his crystal prison.

Comparing blind fanboys to battered wives is not only a really poor comparison, but it is also very offensive.

I didn't have to kill him. While Escorting Esbern and just after exiting the Thieves Guild hideout, a Thief spawned and caught the attention of a merchant, the crowd surrounding them, and then the guards. It was standard fare until the guards got involved and decided to try out their archery on the poor little burglar. Most of them connected, but one of them strayed and hit the townspeople, which did not go over well for the guard.

About this time, a Khajiit bounty hunter spawned and attacked Esbern, who lit said bounty hunter on fire... and a guard. So now you've got people attacking the guards for attacking the people, guards attacking guards for attacking the people, guards attacking the people for attacking guards, and, oh my, that is a pretty fireball you've got there, Esbern.

Inspecting the rubble... oh, look, no more Aerin. /grin

Actually, as amusing as it was to witness all that I still reloaded. Bit too many unique NPC deaths there for my purposes.

Easiest way: Tell Mjoll you need her help while in your house. Then tell her to wait. This causes Aerin to leave the house. Simply follow him and bury an axe in the back of his head. You may have to deal with some guards, but at least he's gone.

Came home to Hjerim one day to find Aerin sitting with Mjoll. Told Mjoll to follow me then told her to wait. Followed him south out of Windhelm and once we were out of guards view hit him in the back of the head with my Daedric mace enchanted with fiery soul trap, thereby trapping his soul in my Black Star. Dumped his body in the nearby river, watched it drift away then used his soul to enchant a silver sapphire necklace that I named Aerin's Tear. Mjoll now wears it around her neck and is none the wiser. He'll never be closer to her than he is right now. ;-)

You allow him to reside in Mjoll's cleavage? You may want to rethink this.

Awesome topic! Aerin acctually seemed to be following me around at times, i would meet him at random in the wilderness . finally i met him outside of Windhelm with noone around, just me,Aerin and my two thralls, i cast rout on aerin who before getting a chance to run almost got killed by a couple of chopps from my thralls , he ran off out into a river/lake where he caught a bolt of paralysis in the back and drowned :-)

I just had Mjoll *minor spoilers*

inducted into the Blades, and what do you know, Aerin has decided he'd like to accompany us on our dragon-hunting expedition. Looks like I won't even need to kill him.

I haven't married Mjoll, but if I did and I had to take care of Aerin, I would do the good ol' FUS ROH DAH off the Throat of the World

Well, I threw my Orcish Battle-Axe on the ground and Brand-Shei thought he'd like it. Mjoll doesn't like it when people take things that don't belong to them. Mjoll downed him and he kept getting up, eventually Aerin became involved and the fight spilled over to the Bee & Barb. I'm standing back enjoying the chaos when all of a sudden Louis Letresh starts attacking me. So I FUS RO DAH'd him and the place EXPLODES with seemingly everyone just swinging away at each other. The fight ends up back outside. When everything was said and done, I go back into the Bee& Barb and find Aerin's body. I lol'd
