I would consider getting used to it like I did way back when it first came out (because it was the same way then), but almost every freaking game on the planet lets you change the X and Y axes separately! I have too many games to play to be bothered with dumb control oversights.
If, in the very unlikely event they fix it for the PSN release, I'll get the PSN version.
By the way, the game looks superb in HD. Runs at a smooth 60fps and everything, so I'll assume the PS3 version will as well.
I can't remember how each game works off the top of my head. I think it's thast Sly 1 and 3 aloow free inverting, but Sly 2 doesn't. I remember having to adjust to unusual settings for one of the games but not the other two.
There's a reason the control options are set up that way. It has to do with the final boss fight.
The most trouble I had with the controls was when trying to take a photograph during a fight. Suddenly the viewpoint was controlled with the left joystick instead of the right. I had Jade doing some funny stuff at the start of some battles.

Though I understand your feeling on this, I myself believe that this game is good enough for me to get used to it. Besides, back in the day an inverted option was often not available, so I got used to playing some games that way back then. I can get used to it again. It probably won't take long, and once I'm used to it the issue will be non-existent.
