I used to play this game back when it came out on the MS Store but had to stop because for some reason it wouldn't update anymore. Now i just got the Steam version and would like to continue with my character and data from the MS Store but it seems i have to also download the MS Store version and use that one to generate a linking code. Is there a way to get a linking code without having to download the MS version again?

I linked my account months ago and don’t fully remember the process. However, I searched this on YouTube and maybe this will help.

yes, you need the MS Store version, unless you have access to an XBOX One and install the game on it. You can use the Tweaker for the Global version to use one download for the MS Store, Steam Version, and Epic Games Store version, though.
