I've been wondering this for a while, because the games look very similar to their actual console counterparts.

However, that doesn't mean they're the same. A lot of companies completely rewrite their classic Arcade hits on other systems rather than building an emulator that can play the original source. Usually the rewritten games are close, but not exactly the same.

Are both the 2600 games and the Arcade games emulation, or were they all rewritten in order to be compatible with the DS hardware?
