Hello all. Today, we deployed a rollout that has been in the works for several months and unfortunately, our community was quite vocal in its dislike of the Forum redesign that was a part of it.

As we had already had this redesign up as a public beta that anyone could join for well over a month, and we had acted upon the feedback received during that beta time to improve the common complaints we had received, we were fairly confident that it was at a good enough place to continue forward with the rollout as planned.

We expected initial negative feedback from the rollout because we always receive at least some negative feedback when we change something. At first, we were quick to ask for suggestions and for feedback hoping that we could make changes on the fly to fix the things that people might not have liked, but as time continued, we realized that there were simply too many complaints to fix and that there really wasn't a good way to get things operational while still live, so we decided to go ahead and roll it back. We couldn't do a rollback immediately due to how many other things were touched by the update, so we had to take a good bit of time to make the necessary preparations.

We apologize for the way that this rollout ended up happening. We thought that we had been pretty open in our messaging that this was indeed coming, and the feedback over the past few weeks prior to now was actually pretty good, so we didn't expect things to happen as they did. In the future, we will take more care to ensure that all voices can be heard prior to rolling out major changes in the future.

Where does that leave things with this rollout? The main purpose of the update is to combine all releases of a game into a single product, which is something that we still have every intention of doing. As the lion's share of the complaints were just about the forum, we will start there and work to make things better. We have plenty of feedback to go on now from the forums and from feedback tickets both, and we'll be more clear about rollouts in the future.
"Um, let's face it, you'd be better off staying at the Hilton."
