Today we're launching a live beta test of Desktop and Device Notifications on GameFAQs. If you have a new notification from GameFAQs but you're not using the site, we'll send you a pop up message on your computer's desktop or an alert on your Android device.
To turn on Device or Desktop Notifications on your system, you can click the button on your notifications page at https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/user/notifications , or visit the new Notification Settings page at https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/user/settings_notification , which will allow you to turn them on and off at any time. It can take up to five minutes for a notification to be sent to you, and we'll only send you notifications you haven't seen on the site.
You can get notifications on multiple devices for the same account, and instantly unsubscribe from all of them if you want. You can even get notifications for multiple accounts on a single device, but remember that clicking a notification for an account you're not logged into does not automatically log you in to that account.
We've tested notifications with the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Edge for Windows, and Chrome for Android. Other browsers may or may not work, depending on their level of support for push notifications. Unfortunately, push notifications are not available at this time on iPhone or iPad.
Please let us know if you run into any issues with our Error Report feedback at https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/feedback?type=20
