- How to play SPQR on Imperial Campaign
Well, sometime today after playing the Selucid Empire and struggling to fight off Egypt and the other two Factions up above. I asked myself, why cant the SPQR ever be played. So i did some digging and i came across something on another site. Something i never tried before. Yes, im guessing everyone here may say it wont work, i too said the same. However, i was stunned to find out it worked. I was playing the Senate on Imperial Campain, im currently on year 256 i believe. Anyways, down below in the "" is exactly what i copy and paste from the other site. Oh and im playing the Rome Anthology, ive im not using an update, patch. I just reboot my whole computer and installed the game a few days ago. So i dont know if it will work with the other Rome games or if it needs patches and all. Still make sure you have two copies of the files down below in each Step. If it works for you, enjoy it :) "It's a little modding tutorial for people who want to play with SPQR, Armenia, Scythia, Macedonia, etc. At first i didnt think it would work, the last time i did it the old fashion way where you just copy paste the factions to playable, i didnt know about this bit for Step 2. As the game was loading just before you get on the map, i kept saying its going to crash, its going to crash....omg! it didnt crash! WARNING
SPOILER SPQR doesnt have any shrines, none at all. The game may get rather boring. Even if you cheat to the last city evolution, you cant get the Romans with the eagle, i dont even remember getting the other nice looking Roman units like Urban and Legion that are without it. Just the basic 2 units you get for both the Large Village and Minor City. I dont recall any of the Roman factions making war on any faction you attack, like Egypt, i dont think they make war unless they do it themseleves. You cant give out missions either, in case you thought you could. I honestly dont know if you can get the good units until later on in the game, might have to wait until the other Roman Factions reach the huge city stage or im just missing something which i hope i am. |
It's fairly well-known, actually, with the caveat that clicking the Senate scroll tends to crash the game. IIRC, Rebels do work, but it's near-impossible to actually do anything (you're 24' under in debt very quickly, you can't trade with anyone, and I'm not sure they have a build tree). I think there's also an issue with moving all of them not actually showing all of them in the Faction Select screen, but I'm not sure. 2.STEP Now find and copy the .../Rome - Total War (or your installation directory)/data/text/campaign_descriptions.txt IIRC, if you have a patched version (1.5), this step isn't necessary. I honestly dont know if you can get the good units until later on in the game, might have to wait until the other Roman Factions reach the huge city stage or im just missing something which i hope i am. IIRC, Rome is not a city which can trigger the Marian Reforms, so you'd have to either take a city from one of the other Romans, or wait for them to trigger it themselves (which could take a while). Inside Burt Gummer is an Ork. The Ork is not trying to get out. It's damned happy to be there. Hinamizawa: Where killing your friends is always the answer. |
