Woof-woof Evermore fans,

a couple of guys and I started a project that aims to decode the rest of the SRAM format from SoE. Currently ~ 54% are still unknown.
For a full-capable savegame editor mostof the format needs to be decoded.

Community help is required for this project. The more people participate, the faster and better the results.

For this purpose, an open source tool for comparing SRAM (* .srm) files was developed.

If someone is interested in participating in the project, they can find out more on the project page: evermore.xeth.de

Forum: forum.xeth.de
Discord: discord.gg/s4wTHQgxae

We also support a new development from SoE, called the Mystery of Evermore.
MoE can be played as a demo.

Thank you so much.

this just loads a blank black page on both my PC (semi-old Firefox) and iPad. i'm not running out to install a new browser just to view it. work on compatibility. a page for a videogame from 25 years ago especially should not require specific, brand new browsers just to view.

Just tested with firefox on my pc. Works great. The white page usually appears only for milliseconds you barely notice with a good internet connection. This is until the azure webservice has been started when it was in sleep mode. I am using a free azure account, so this is a limitation I cannot remove atm. Try again. The service is loaded now.

do you have a slow internet connection?

I put some effort into increasing the browser compatibility. Most likely it should be fine now. If not, you'll get a alternate page with some options.

You might give it a(nother) try.

Any Feedback? In the meantime we made some decent progress.

The "unknown" rate dropped from ~50 to ~37%. Thanks to some debugging and W-RAM - S-RAM offset mapping.

This enabled us to finally add savestate support (for Snes9x, other are possible as well)
It's possible now to compare S-RAM almost immediately while you're playing (with Snes9x).
No ingame saving required anymore!

This is done by savestates comparison in combination with a windows file watcher. We worked some nights through to achieve that.
Every time one creates a savestate, S-RAM Compare detects this and compares it with the last created copy.

If one uses a gamepad, ideally map "Create savestate" function of Snes9x to one button of your gamepad. (So do I)
