Amuseum, the recent topics have piqued my interest on it. I had no idea one existed, but yeah... question. Have you tested to see if the first scenario can be defeated in this iteration? I'm about to attempt it, but I fear the bishop may pose an issue.

I wrote the guide on Scenario 1 so its analysis is of great interest to me.

As far as my first attempt goes, Alfador dies easily to the elementals and even the lizardmen. I might need to revise in order to dispatch the bottom first as opposed to the left like usual. His existence allows you to clear everything while he holds off the toughest troops.

Since Alfador has 28 DEF, he's only outmatched by the Serpent Knight ATK and early fireball spells. The rest of his hits are usually elemental chip damage. But now he's being full-out killed by lizardmen and the elementals. XD Looks like maybe even the Bishop could do some hurt.

I'll have to try again.

The serpent knight and lizardmen haven't changed, so usually Calais can handle them by herself. You can also send Baldarov to help.

Soldiers and archers got slightly boosted, so Sabra and Tiberon's troops will die more quickly.

The main reason it's harder is that both bishop and elementals got boosted. I actually wanted elementals to be tougher for the last scenario, so their defense got bumped. However, this has the side effect of making them much harder to kill in Scene 1. Also, bishop grants +6 to their offense, making them more aggressive as well. Altogether with strong Bishop magic, the King's survival chance decreases considerably.

Since the elementals only appear twice in the game, it would be easy to manipulate their stats to the desired values. Bishop stays the same to make them harder to kill in the first scene and in later scenes as well. Elemental could be 21/22. From Bishop's +6/+4, they end up with 27/26, their original values. If Chaos grants +9/+8, they end up at 30/30. This makes more sense seeing as they're the final boss fight; previously the final elementals were a joke.

I'm thinking of raising the defense for water units. On land they're just target practice for the archers. Even in water their 50% evasion doesn't seem that impressive. It seems ridiculous that Lizard man and Merman have the same defense values as Citizen. The same goes for flying units. Gryphons are expensive but they die just as easily as normal troops.

I beat it with great difficulty. I had to reload many a time. The trick is to hope Alfador survives long enough to use 2 magic arrows to get the bishop down to 8 hp, then have baldarov weaken him to 2 hp, and have a level 3 Garret get a 2 hp shot off on him.

The elementals tend to go after the king.

things to try:
Move Baldarov up so bishop doesn't get so close. Elementals won't heal as fast.
Move Baldarov next to bishop. Bishop will attack him and get hurt. Next turn have Garett finish him. However, Baldarov will most likely die to elementals.
