The first scenario in which you use him is scenario 7, and it's pretty obvious that a Croc knight is needed here. However, he starts as an aquatic unit anyways so there's no choice but to make good use of him.
Scenario 8 - Tibby could do exceptionally here as a serpent knight. There's that little pool of water to the right. If you put him in there and let him attack any unit that comes by, he could be a valuable piece in that battle; distracting the enemy's minor forces while the other commanders rush in to fight the major ones.
Scenario 9 - Well I dunno, half of the darn map is covered in water
Scenario 10 - ditto
Scenario 11 - The exterior of Dalsis Castle has a moat. I think it's a safe statement to say that a lot of players neglect this moat, but if you station Tibby there, he can be a good wyvern-exterminator when the wyverns come.
Scenario 12 - Admittedly, he'd be rather useless in this completely dry castle... BUT, he still can recruit soldiers, which can be used for countering enemy archers. He's not COMPLETELY useless here, but he's not your MVP in this scenario either.
Scenario 13 - Though there isn't much water here, it's still present. And if there's water, I'm pretty sure Tibby can make use of it. I'm thinking if you station him in one of the ponds on the side, he can do similar to what he did in scenario 11, just kill any passing enemies with minimal loss.
Scenario 14 - Same deal as last scenario. There's a group of wolves that always go for the civilians in the upper portion of the map; there's also a conveniently located pond there. Tibs could kill those wolves instead of another commander; other commanders are better used on the big hordes of wolves in the left, or right.
Scenario 15 - This is quite possibly Tiberon's best scenario. Although less than 20% of the map is in water, almost all of your fighting will occur there. If you give him the warsong, I'm pretty sure he could destroy those dinosaurs - and the dragon. With warsong, he has 35 attack and 32 defense - a fair match for the Dragon.
Scenario 16 - From here on out, he does start to lose his worth... He'll have to start recruiting regular soldiers from now on (most of the time)...
Scenario 17 - no water...
Scenario 18 - The last scenario with any water in it. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If there's water, Tiberon CAN have a use!
Scenario 19 & 20 - No water...
All in all, there are about THREE scenarios in which Tiberon is "useless."
But even then, he can hire regular soldiers, and with the stats that he has, he can put up a decent fight (A32 D28).
If you total his stats up, you get 60... but if he's a knight master, his stats are 34 24, which total up to 58, which is two less. Tiberon as a Serpent Knight has a higher stat total, and in this game, defense tends to be more important than attack.
Moreover, on most of the scenarios, when Tibs actually gets water, his defense increases by 50%. So that's 42 defense when in water. That's virtually invincible.
His only flaw, really, would be his mobility. But if you're going knightmaster, there are 4 scenarios that are staged inside anyways, so you're getting bad mobility either way.
Anyways, I'm not saying he's a GREAT character or anything, like Mina is. Tiberon sadly can't live up to that, but he's still playable as a serpent knight., and he's probably going to do you more good as a serpent knight than as a knight master. He's actually pretty good as a serpent knight! Higher stat totals, virtual invincibility in water, and quite a few scenarios to make good use of it. The only thing he loses as a serpent knight is Lightning, a spell we can all do without.
I agree he's more useful as serpent knight. nevertheless, i rarely keep him, though. i don't like to have too many on my team.

That's a good point, but who's going to be your replacement for him? You have Bayard, Thorne and Carleon, all of which are just clones of each other...
SK is certainly unique and can do you a lot of good until around scenario 17.
Garett and the girls are more than enough. If I feel like taking a fifth member, I'll make Bayard a Magic Knight (because he's the highest level of the three guys when you get him).

Yeah I don't see a use. At least as a Knight Master, give him Warsong and he could destroy Chaos.

Anybody can kill Chaos.
Knight Master is mediocre for an endgame commander. Only marginally better than Serpent in the late game. However, the Serpent Knight shines in the midgame. It has tremendous stats for the middle scenarios where there are lots of water.
Don't forget Tiberon gets his max level with very minimal experience, allowing you to pass the levels that would've been spent leveling knight master to someone else.
*yawn* it's just too much work to control that many commanders. Tibs is just outshined by the unique 4, as a Knight Master he is a welcome change from all the Magic Knights you get.
I mean think about it, you could kill a Serpent Knight in the very first scenario.

Yes, because the AI stupidly drags him onto low defense land. If the AI kept him on water you'd have no chance to kill him in the first level.
Serpent Knight Tib with the shield or warsong is almost impossible for the AI to kill. I'm not saying he's a great commander and you could easily do without him, but I think he's definately better then the generics up until scenario 15 or so.
Just noticed that all the discussion over the last few days has actually moved this board up to #3 on the Genesis list. Maybe some people will take notice of that and try this game for the first time.
