"Unlockable - Extreme difficulty mode / How to Unlock - Beat the game on normal or hard difficulty"

This seems to be wrong and is probably based on a FAQ written here by Prof_Rev.

On the Project Breakdown wiki it says:

'Another difference between regions is that the "Extreme" difficulty must first be unlocked on US versions of BREAKDOWN (by completing the game on "Normal" or "Hard" difficulties), while it is immediately accessible in both Japanese and European versions."

This is also wrong. I have both the PAL and the NTSC version and "Expert" (not "Extreme") is available from the start (I deleted the saves just to check, because save data is shared).

Maybe this is based on the Japanese version...

There also seems to be something wrong with the brightness in the PAL version - the game is way too bright...

Just finished the game on Expert difficulty and it is indeed the highest difficulty. No such thing as "Extreme" difficulty, which could easily be surmised by the fact that there's no available hexagon in the New Game selection screen to fit it in, like there is in the "Extras" (the trailer that's unlocked upon completion of the game). The cheats section is just plain wrong.

Good game by the way, I enjoyed it, recommended if you're a masochist.

Thought I'd write the general strategy for the infamous white room...

Use the neck snap move (back and RT + LT) on the first enemy (this completely refills your energy). Activate slow-mo and use high kick (up and LT) on two of the enemies, then use pulse (RT + LT) to finish them off. You should be left with 2 enemies which are much easier to deal with. You can pick up health and/or energy the enemies drop almost with impunity, though sometimes the enemies can hit you, so be careful.

Big burly aliens next, just use the black button and hold RT and you can hit all three with the charged jump-kick. Use pulse if needed. They go down in a few charged kicks. Probably the easiest wave.

The next wave are the stealth T'lan and they're also pretty easy. Run quickly to where they spawn (you can see this by the "cannons" or whatever when they get red hot) and kill one of them and spam pulse on the remaining ones.

With the assault T'lan just use high kick, that instantly kills them. Use slow-mo if needed.

The next wave is the hardest and health is rarely dropped by enemies, if at all. Note where the singular stealth T'lan spawns and avoid that area like the plague. Kill the assault T'lan if you need energy. For the regular grunts, just activate slow-mo away from the burly T'lan and kill them (stealth, assault and "grunt" T'lan only spawn one at a time). Once you kill the regular "grunt", charge kick the burly T'lan and use pulse on them and then pick up the balls of energy dropped. Rinse and repeat. Regular enemies spawn indefinitely here on Expert difficulty and you can only progress once the 3 burly T'lan are dead.

Also, in the next few areas, use high kick on the soldiers, that kills them instantly. In the room with the warrior T'lan, just run straight for T'langen, activate slow-mo and use LT+LT.
