It isn't so much certain parts "requiring" bombs, it's moreso that the game gives you no reason not to bomb as much as possible because bomb parts are easy to get. Parts of the game like Seija's first boss card seem to have an extremely high chance to wall you as compensation for the easy bombs, and cards like Sukuna's "Mallet "You Grow Bigger!" are given really (imo) annoying gimmicks to to make the difficulty come from something other than the density of bullets on the screen.
The extra stage is fun though, I love the boss theme.
