Just thought I would detail these, since no one else seems to have recorded this data. (and other claims are wrong)

HP maxes out at 999. Even if you're under the maximum level and still continue to increase stamina, it will never increase beyond 999.

MP, stamina, power, wisdom and will all max out at 99.

Your experience level maxes out at 99. Supposedly, there is a bug in the Japanese version that allows you to exceed this level, but it is not present in the U.S. version.

Your experience maxes out at 999999. Your experience needed to level-up maxes out at 1029998. Obviously, you cannot reach this value, since your current experience cannot exceed 999999.

I assume attack power and defense power (AP and DP) max out at 255, but the highest values you can acheive won't even come near 200.

GP maxes out at 65535.

Note that your HP and MP do not increase by a static amount -- they're influenced by your stamina and wisdom, respectively. Never raising your wisdom, for instance, means you're stuck with 6 MP throughout the entire game. The developers were aware of this quirk, and so there are no spells in the game that cost more than 3 MP to cast. (even Nuke only costs 3 MP)

The highest stat values you can have as a result of reaching level 99 is: three stats maxed out completely, and 52 in the remaining stat. Some stats will increase other stats synergistically, so I'm not sure if this is totally correct. I maxed out my stamina, power and will, and dumped the remaining points in wisdom.

The following items in the game are unique, and cannot be retrieved if they are sold or used: (in some cases, you can't sell unique items)

Elixer* (appears on an island on the world map when you slay all the enemies on screen)
Elixer *(appears in a treasure chest in ice cave)
Excalibur sword
Blood sword
Rusty sword
Ice sword
Battle axe
Were axe
Zeus axe
Chain
Sickle
Star
Bronze helmet
Bronze armor
Dragon armor
Bronze shield
Dragon shield

* I say the Elixer is rare because, if you save before clearing the Dime Tower and reaching the point of no return, you want to keep these intact. Elixers only drop from enemies that appear after the Dime Tower.

Note that all the specific keys can always be dumped and retrieved for use later on, as the enemies or NPCs which drop them will always give you another copy.

Lastly, a note about the dreaded "point of no return" ...

When you clear the Dime Tower, (defeat the garude boss at the top) you can no longer exit it and return to the world map. Attempting to do so will only have Marcie inform you that you can't leave while the tower is unstable. If you save your game beyond this point, then you are permanently stuck, and may no longer visit the world map again. I recommend that you either don't save after defeating the garuda, or use your second save slot for any saves after the Dime Tower. As you venture through the next dungeon and reach the end of the game, there are other points of no return where saving means you can no longer go back and revisit prior sections of this area, so it's important to get whatever you may need before reaching this point. And finally, you should always bring plenty of keys to this section, because not having enough means you'll be permanently stuck, since you can't turn around and buy more.

Some quite interesting information. We should add this to the Most Important Tip topic, so that when it finally hits 500 the new topic to replace it can have this info added to it. Maybe then it'll finally have enough info to get it stickied.

Done. Maybe someone can get in touch with a mod and request a sticky for that thread.

I've put 3 requests in for sticky status. But it doesn't have enough information in the first posts. At least that's my guess.

that can't be true, because if you go back and forth strength and wisdom you should reach level 99 with for stats maxed out at 99.. when you do strength it goes up 2, will and stamina both go up one, wisdom none. when you do wisdom, it also goes up 2, will and stamina 1, strength none.. so if you alternate these, then you should ultimately end up with 99 in each of the stats

Synergistic bonuses are very small, and don't affect other stats enough to max them out along the way. Increasing Wisdom only gives bonuses to Will, and no stats give bonuses to Wisdom. It wouldn't make sense if it were possible to have all stats maxed out in one route, but not another.
