Just got around to playing this game a month or so ago and thought it was pretty interesting. The soundtrack in particular was alternately really bright and cheerful and fairly dark, nice NES goodness. It sounded kind of familiar, and it turns out the same guy that composed the Shadowgate NES soundtrack did this one, if I'm not mistaken (I like Shadowgate's OST).

Anyway, I did the two main dungeon themes and the overworld theme. I also drew a picture of the Ghost Lion dude himself, who is awesome, so please check it out, and let me know what you think.

This was actually a pretty interesting game I played back then because for the NES I had to play any RPG I found back then. Never beat it, but it had some interesting mechanics. You had to find your levels in chests and summoned people to help you in battle.

If I we had found you any later, you have drowned, I didn't check your links yet, but I'll come back to this.

Awesome. I agree, this game did a lot of stuff that I wouldn't expect to find in an 8-bit game, stuff that helps to distinguish it from the obvious greats and classics on the system. I love that line, by the way, and I really love the "Let's give courage and dreams" line when you save.

Yeah about the only thing bad about the game is the pretty hideous box art. I actually just looked at it again (and the Japanese one) and yeah that art for the JPN box art is too anime (for the time) but they couldn't have gotten a better picture of the main character for the cover??

Also I checked your piano covers. Very cool.

Thank you! Ha ha, yeah, that box art is pretty hideous. It's funny how much that sort of thing has changed over the years, these days the anime-style cover would be much the more obvious choice.

Yeah the anime box art would certainly fit in these days and they wouldn't have even needed to commission someone to come up with a so wildly different and bad box art.

Thank you very much, Kamil. I was actually about to bump this myself, ha ha. I'm still planning to cover some more Ghost Lion somewhere down the line, so this thread might come in handy.
