TV Tropes calls this a violation of common sense, but who seriously didn't have the temptation to see what's down there while exploring the Apojii Islands?

Violation of Common Sense: In the Apojii Islands you must jump off the edge of the world to find a hidden Djinn.

Or to Hover with the ship for as far as Psynergy would hold out....

Haze is an excellent addition to the group. That little guy has save my team's lives so many times.

One of the most well hidden Djinn in the game, pretty obtuse that there’s even a ledge to fall down at all.
And the bears what was left were cloaked in acid washed denim, and stately stones of rhine.

IDK, the walkable water narrows to a point where you jump off.

Now the Hesperia random encounter, I commend anyone who found that one without a guide, lol.

Every overworld Djinn except Iron is the same by that logic. Why would you head to the south cape of Gondowan? Why would you head further east from Tundaria Tower? Why would you land on the east shore of Atteka and run inland as far as you could go, unless you already knew what you were looking for?

Agreed, so the idea of Haze being well hidden... maybe, by the standards of other in-town djinn. The overworld djinn are in another LEAGUE. I'm glad there are so few of those.

I only ever ran into 2 Djinn on the world map without using a guide across both games. That was pure dumb luck, tbh. The worst part about these world map encounters is that even if you are in the right spot, you might not necessarily encounter the djinni right away, so unless you are grinding in a specific area, they are easy to miss even if you are intentionally trying to explore the entire map.

Still they’re more badly designed than anything else, there’s literally zero hint as to their locations. It wasn’t so bad in GS1 where they were slightly off course (or in the case of Vine on a tiny island by itself). They’re just there to sell guidebooks, straight up bad design.

Haze meanwhile is one of the only Djinn out in the open that isn’t behind a block pushing puzzle or unlocked with a field psynergy found in the same area or when you get Piers. That Mars Djinn in Milksalla comes close but if you bother mind reading at all you’ll get the solution handed to you again.
