My other topic got archived.

I"m using an i7-2700k with no overclocking and a single Radeon 6850. The only slowdown I get is when there are a lot of fire effects, which is one room in the KOS-MOS simulator stage and Shion's Thermal Blast. There are 5 save points that will break your game, so don't use them:

-In Shion's room
-Small bedroom in the Woglinde
-"Do you want to save?" intermission screen just after KOS-MOS fires a tracking device
-"Do you want to save?" intermission screen picture with winged robot
-Elsa bridge

Other than that, playing from the disk work out well.
And luckily enough, it comes with a self-destruct device.

Saving clear data won't break the emu, will it?

Nope, didn't break mine.

Heard there was slow down while using the mechs. Is this true?

Sorry, but I never chose to pilot a mech. Not even once. I think there were some forced mech fights while using Jr. the first time, but I don't remember any slowdown.

Good thread, comes up when I google searched the issue.

I also haven't had much trouble with mechs and slowdown, but just the same I also don't use them much.

Im just getting into the game myself. I had to resort to burning to disks in parts, since my PS2 refuses to read the real copy :/

The advantage on this one, is the quick save/load.

I'd like to add this: Don't bother trying manipulate the event gauge with save states. They are decided at least two turns back before the kill, and it's really not worth it. I tried getting the x4 multiplier after each kill but battles were taking three times as long.
And luckily enough, it comes with a self-destruct device.
