Also, how do you run?

Hold the shift key to run. I don't remember how to rearrange characters though.

To rearrange your characters just select one of them and hold down the ctrl key and click on another one (afak this does not work in mm7).
If you look in the mm6 files there is one named mm6 configurationsettings.
Open this and change Always run from 0 to 1 if you want to always run. This will reverse
the effect of the shift key to walk.

Keep in mind though, by running your characters' attacks will slow down.

Thanks for the responses.

I had accidentally discovered the control trick to re-arranging the characters. The reason I was asking about the run is because hitting shift made me move slower, so I was confused. The game was purchased from GoG.com, and I bet they have the auto-run set to on, so that would explain that :)

Correct. The GOG version includes Greyface's patch, which added autorun.

Along similar lines to the topic question: how does one (if at all) change which character is the first one active upon going into turn-based mode?

The one with the shortest recovery time goes first and if two or more have the same ,the one most to the left goes first.
