(Not that Bruce learned his lesson from that, considering the next time he met someone who had spent almost their entire life being brainwashed and conditioned to be the perfect assassin by a cult, he made her Batgirl almost immediately.)

In his defense, Cassie Cain is hot.

There's a good reason the JLA built the life force sucking penalty into the Hellbat armor, and the Lantern corps would be fools to give Bruce a ring despite his intentions.

That and Batman isn't exactly known for following orders or respecting authority.

He'd never be able to use one - as has been pointed out in more recent books, one of the core principles of the green ring is that you need to have immense willpower, and that you need to be able to use it to overcome great fear. Whereas Batman has been entirely defined by his own fear for almost his entire life, to the point where he's turned it into a weapon he wields against others.

In essence, he'd make a perfect Sinestro Corps recruit. Which is why one of the yellow rings actually sought him out, and only rejected him because he HAD previously worn a green ring (Hal's), even if only for a very short time (when Hal was trying to make a point that Bruce would never be able to use a green ring).

Buying a second house is turning out to be more difficult than buying a first house.

My Wife's credit is jacked up from a divorce from her first husband. He agreed to pay the credit card bills in the divorce decree, bought a motorcycle once they broke up, a Harley no less, then he filed for bankruptcy, and ignored paying the bills, which double md tripled, and my wife got hosed.

Now because of that on her credit report we can't buy our new house. I am upset, aadn and disappointed. We have a lawyer, but I know how this is going to titietitien out. Since he filed for bankruptcy and she dosnt rhe moneybjad to be paid by somone, so unless she pays or files for bankruptcy then no dice.

It's been a terrible year thus far.

Pretty sure you've confused Batman with Scarecrow. Easy mistake.

You mean he wouldn't be able to use a GL ring despite having used a GL ring?

Geez... Also, remind me what Scarlet does for a living? Was she a nurse or something?

Scarlet is a Host Supervisor at a casino here on the Mississippi Coast. Basically she is the lady that males sure all the high rollers and Entertainment that comes to the casino gets what they want. It's a cool job, and she tells me that it is a surprising less stressful job than when she worked with me in tech support.

She gets all sorts of tickets to free shows which we go to, and at the Christmas show a few years ago I lost my original wedding ring. In fact, we have tickets to a show in a few weeks, and I do not plan on wearing my replacement ring.

Pretty sure you've confused Batman with Scarecrow.

Pretty sure you've never read Blackest Night.

Scarecrow actually falls into an interesting conundrum when it comes to the yellow ring. One seeks him out during the Sinestro Corps War storyline (and he's almost orgasmically overjoyed when he realizes what it is and what it represents), but the heroes manage to stop it from getting to him. But around that same time it's mentioned that he's become completely incapable of feeling fear because he's been dosed by his own fear gases so many times that he's effectively rendered himself immune. And he hates the idea - he's almost like an adrenaline junkie who has pushed himself to the limit so hard that he's no longer capable of generating adrenaline. Which, in theory, should make him worthless to the Sinestro Corps, because it's established that in order to use a yellow ring, you have to be able to tap into your own fear to fuel it (and they actually have a test where they lock you in a box and force you to do that in order to escape), so if he cannot feel fear, he shouldn't be able to use the ring.

But then he does get one for a short time in Blackest Night, and it seems to work fine. And in fact seems to make him able to feel fear again. Which he absolutely loves.

Wearing a ring is not the same as using a ring. And for that matter, being able to use a ring in short bursts of desperation or in alternate universe continuities is not the same as being able to use the ring long-term in the manner to which it was designed to be used.

Hal was basically telling Bruce "You s*** on me and disrespect me, but you literally cannot do what I do on a daily basis", and by the end of that particular scene, Bruce essentially agreed with him. Just wearing the ring for like a minute left Bruce looking like he'd had the s*** kicked out of him for an hour.

I read the TPB, which was at least somewhat abridged.

And, depending on the writer, Batman's experience with the ring will vary tremendously. As a general rule, Batman is known for his exceedingly incredible willpower and mental preparation which, among other things, includes contingencies for when his mind is being tampered with such as the backup personality that emerged when Simon Hurt tried to brainwash him.

Still working with the loan officer, the real estate agent, and our lawyer to get this house. I'm confident that it will not work out, but I am doing everything in my power to make it happen.

Vacation time for my wife starts tomorrow and we are doing a double feature of John Wick and Avengers, hopefully my body will allow us to finish both films without an issue.

We will find out on Sunday!

Remember to stay hydrated Wave! 😈

Seriously though, that movie is a bladder buster. Save the refreshments for John Wick. You're going to want to be nice and borderline dehydrated for Endgame, lol.
