I hooked my gamecube up a few months ago to play a few classics (Skies of Arcadia, Eternal Darkness) and I tried Super Mario Sunshine.

After an hour or so I had to give up. Couldn't get used to the camera controls, specifically the inverted x-axis. Made it borderline unplayable for me. And being a game from 2002, there is no option that I know of to change it.

Does anyone know if this is still a thing in 3D All-Stars? At least give me the option to change it.

Nowadays I always prefer inverted x-axis and never understood why or how I got into it. Even though I played so much sunshine in my childhood I didn’t actually remember it having inverted horizontal camera controls, so I guess maybe that is what caused my preferences?

Hopefully they add camera settings! As I can definitely understand how this will hinder the enjoyment for people!
But at the same time, I have a feeling they won’t…

There seems to be some confusion. Y-axis is up and down, X is left and right.

The sensitivity is way too high too. It'd be such a simple fix but I doubt Nintendo will do anything about it.

There's no confusion. The horizontal controls are reversed in Sunshine and you can't do anything about it.

Shouldn't be a problem to add this feature, but lazy ass Nintendo won't do it.

I think all the posters are aware, but yes x is horizontal axis.

I'm sure the camera control will be modernized. If they're going through the trouble to make motion controls optional for Galaxy then I see no reason why they wouldn't allow us to at least choose how the camera operates.

While I was born long before the likes of N64, Playstation, Wii hit the scenes and was exposed to this camera style quite a bit over time, I will admit that I prefer the more modern camera systems. It would be jarring if they left this unchanged.

I finished my first playthrough of Sunshine a few months ago, and while it took me a bit to get used to, I found it worked great everywhere except cramped spaces such as the hotel interior. I wouldn't mind too much it's unchanged, but everyone's different.
