That's just smart business. You don't want your employees resenting you. "If he can afford X, he can afford to pay me Y, f*** this!"

Depends on how well you treat your employees within their own wage segment.

A pizza guy doesn't expect to get paid a bazillion dollars.
But if you have a good staff and you're raking it in, paying those people a higher than average wage can ensure your good team sticks around

Mostly no, you're wrong. You flaunt your wealth in front of people who work for you, they're going to resent you for it. Although it might work differently in socialist countries. I know that if the owner of my company sold his dented blue F250 and started driving to the shop in a G Wagen, I wouldn't hesitate to take an extra ten minutes for lunch because s***, he can afford it. Last company I worked for the owner was buying mansions and speed boats, and everyone knew it, and nobody was in all that much of a hurry because the boss could afford to pay them more.
I faced it all and I stood tall- And did it my way.

Let’s say, hypothetically, I just won one of those 500 million dollar lotto drawings. I’d definitely drop money on cars, but they’d be dream cars. Most expensive would be an Aston. Every thing else would be old s***. 4x4s, trucks, muscle cars, or stupid military vehicles. I would not be dropping 16 grand a month on a f***ing lease.
But I didn't put my hair in a pony tail for nothing so if I'm going home alone I'm not going at all.

Well, that's because you're weird, and you're among like company here. I'd have a lot of military vehicles too, because I'd probably get more of a kick driving a Deuce down the road than a Porsche.

Maybe you shouldn't work with such bitter f***s, and shouldn't be such a bitter f***.

All you do is brag about your money, and you're bitter your boss has more? Such class.

I'm not bitter about my boss's money, it's his money.

Try it sometime. You might actually be a happy person.

I do like how you attack anything and everything I say and then turn around and claim that I'm the bitter one in the equation. That's more of that textbook psychological projection, as diagnosed by the forum resident amateur psychologist.

If he's got money to burn, he's got money to pay me more. That's not bitterness, that's simple capitalism. People only work as hard as it takes to keep their job, and companies only pay as much as it takes to keep their employees. If the company is doing well enough the boss can afford six figure toys, they're doing well enough that I don't need to bust my back. This is how hard I work for XX dollars. Want me to work harder? Pay me more. Don't like my work? Fire me. Simple. So simple a Canadian could understand it.

You caught me, I'm a closet communist.

I know it's me and most of this forum would argue with me if I said water is wet, but can we all agree that flaunting your money in front of your employees is a silly thing to do?

Let's see, we open with an ad hominem, followed by e-psychology from the internet's most insecure man (who started this argument AGAIN, FYI), followed by yet more bitterness.

"WAAAAH MY BOSS HAS MORE MONEY THAN ME SO I'M NOT WORKING HARD!"

Here's how trades work, from a guy with literally 10x your experience:
You work at X level, but want Y money.

You have to work at Y level in order to get Y money. They aren't giving you a raise based on "oh yes yes I'll work harder for more!"

It's funny, you're like a Newfie. Do a job for a month and think you're some master.
