Sold my Range Rover (guy is coming to pick it up tonight) and spotted a 65 Jeep CJ5 on craigslist. Just went and drove it. Runs and drives, clean title, no rot, minor surface rust on the underside.

Buick V6
Muncie 4 speed (vague shifter action though)
Good soft top
Steel half doors and vinyl full doors
Has power steering but it's not connected (takes a lot of steering effort)
Will need some wiring for brake lights and some other stuff
Paint has some cracks

Guy said he'll take 2k for it

The Fireball wasn’t offered until 1966 in the Jeep lineup. Engine swapped? You’ve got the 225 variant yeah? Not the older 185 correct?

Would a nice summer rig. Not sure I would cut or lift it for bigger tires or wheel it.

Not gonna cut it. Probably just a 2.5" lift and some 33s. Also wire in a hidden radio in the glove box, gotta have tunes

I’d keep the RRC over that Jeep. More capable and more comfortable. I don’t know what issues your RRC still has though.

The Rover was fun, but I prefer to have a droptop and a manual trans. Plus I've missed my 79 CJ5 since I sold it a few years ago.
