My friend has a Prius and he seems to like its tech. It is going to cost twice as much as a Micra though. It is also a Prius.
Hardcore - We'll probably be modded for this...

1000km in the Jeep is ~$230 in fuel. Plus roughly $40 in rubber.
The car will be about $150/month, plus $80 in fuel.

Do the math. While a beater would make the most sense a new turd box is still cheaper.

What kind of tires do you have?
But I didn't put my hair in a pony tail for nothing so if I'm going home alone I'm not going at all.

Now, when people buy cars, it's not always a by the numbers rational decision, sometimes people just like something and that's that. And that's fine. But when people are looking at economy cars and their reason for it is "the tech," that just makes me laugh. I have to go to work, does somebody else want to crunch the numbers on how far you'd have to drive a Prius for the fuel economy to make up the price differential with a simple Corolla? Buying a Prius for the technology is like ordering a $17 sushi roll for the nutritional content. If that's what interests you, have at it. Missing the point, but have at it.

Using the base model prices Prius = $24685 and Corolla = $18550, average price of gas here at around 2.50 a gallon, and their combined mileage of 52 and 36, respectively, you'd have to drive the Prius 127000 miles to make up the difference.

Back of the envelope, so I could be off.

Going tonight for sure.

If I can get a 96 month loan I’ll do it. Just pay it off at my own pace.

Paying cash... we’ll see how much they can knock off the price.
