3/10

i was willing to give this a 4 until the ridiculous last 20 minutes,in particular a very poor "comedy" bit that goes on way too long
it was defintely better than the first one for the most part

that said some of the same problems are still here
tree is still a garbage person (openly flirts with another guy, doesn't inform someone they're being cheated on,hasn't seen 'back to the future')
they still kinda gloss over the 'damage is accumulating and you might die for real' thing
didn't quite fully explain something very relevant to the plot (what happened to tree 2? she gets her body back in the middle of kissing carter?)

if you're wondering why all this happens: ryan caused it
the friend from the first movie that busts into the room at the start of every day
nothing neat behind it,it's all a science experiment gone wrong

and here's the thing that would've been a way better movie: ryan starts out stuck in the loop
so there was probably something good there
tree says she didn't break out of it but passed it onto him

instead of that way more interesting premise...
the science experiment goes wrong again and sends tree to an alternate dimension where she's back on her birthday and it focuses on that

Damnit, that could have used some spoiler tags! The other movie had a big gag with her not seeing something.

Anna And The Apocalypse 4/10

Trailer made it look better than it is. The gore is way to tame, the jokes are dull and the characters annoying. The musical numbers were the best part of the movie and what I was looking forward to the least.

Downrange - 7/10

This movie asks a lot of the viewer. It asks you to believe an extremely well-trained sniper, would stake out one stretch of (paved) road, where hardly anyone ever travels, where there's no cell or HF radio reception, as he patiently and methodically guns down any random vehicle and all the passengers that pass through.

Well, if you can buy into that, this movie works. The gore is particularly gruesome, it's pretty well acted, and the tension is high throughout. It does get frustrating from time to time, but that's par for the course for movies like this. The ending, however, is particularly unbelievable.
