Bold of you to assume Bandai Namco would improve a game on its re-release. They're more likely to release a game with a machine translation than take the time and effort to produce an actual solid translation plus a dub.

If it was garbage then, it's garbage now. Really sucks how they handle these franchises.

The translation was amazing. It was faithful to the original script and had respect for the players.

Except for the issue with pronouns for your character, rough grammar in spots etc.

Would you prefer they just turned the game into a giant meme in the English version like Dragon Quest does?

The original translation is infamous broken and inaccurate. It was made by non-native English speakers from SEA who had no idea what they were doing. It's completely transparent that you have no idea what you're talking about. Don't come in and try to act superior when you're lacking the facts.

EDIT: Also, this is the """faithful""" translation you're defending.

Totally no memes there. All accurate translation, as according to keikaku.

HAHAHA! Right. I've been playing the PC version. Holy hell, I forgot how bad it was... Jesus. Characters are saying complete nonsense at worst and at best, their dialogue could have been written better by someone who wasn't a fool.

"Surely he'll wake up some day..."

"I'm sure he'll wake up one day, I'm not worried about that."

Wow. English is hard. Digimon CS sure makes it look that way.

Nothing wrong with those two sentences though?

That article has three examples. One from jimiken who talks like a spaz as part of his character and another being a weeb and they really do talk like that.

It's like when people say the data squad dub is bad because Keenan talks in broken English even though he talks in broken Japanese as well.

One is a sentence a real person would say. The other is poorly written fantasy land BS. Which is what much of CS's translation comes out as. Poorly written BS.

Rattergun is a troll who goes around to different popular boards and says nonsensical stuff to rile people up. Ignore him.
