It's kind of interesting to find someone ask such a question, only to mock other's personal beliefs. Also the resulting posts from that question.

Fortunately we have never needed to prove that God exists except to indicate what has been said, written down and what has transpired.

It was written that Israel will be restored in the latter days even before the Diaspora occurred. If you read the Bible and see the foretold events unfold in our time, also see what is awaiting those who reject the salvation offered by Christ. Should you not then think again about what you are asking from whom?

If you do not believe that He exists, is really insignificant to those who do. It is significant to you.

So this is a religion board, "matters of faith and devotion". Are atheists not by their own admission, not into religion? Just curious.

It's the religion board, not the religious board. Many atheists, myself included, like talking about religion with various people. Some other atheist even like to practice a religion, and maybe want to talk about that.

No. Atheists, by their own admission, do not believe in the gods. It follows that most atheists frequenting a religion board are at least interested in the subject of religion. That certainly applies to me.

Ok, I have previously heard that Christians confronted atheist with being religious and just did a random Google search and info was that atheism is not a religion.

Another search just now with keywords "atheism religion and by definition" came up what you said.

Although my view of religion is that the word more fittingly describes ritualistic practices to attain said goals, rather than anything such as faith

I’m not sure I super understand what you’re saying.

The way I worded it the way I did was because some atheists ARE religious. I consider myself to be an atheist, as well as a Buddhist. In the US, atheist and irreligious are frequently used interchangeably, but this is not technically the full picture. Atheists don’t believe in the gods, and that is the “minimum necessary” for atheist.

Hope that makes sense.

I just recalled from memory what I heard and quick google search, don't actually know a lot about being atheist. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I do however know some about Buddhist, Muslim, Hinduism and others. Born and raised in Christian churches in apartheid era South Africa. Not going to church anymore, but am still a believer.
