But really, just look at any Bible made in the last fifty years. Almost all of them put it in a footnote or set it off in brackets to signify that the story can't be found in the earliest manuscripts of the gospel, is not attested to by the church fathers, and makes no sense in the context of the surrounding narrative.

EDIT: I think I was mistaken about your intentions, sorry.

The story is not the proof of the point. It is merely an illustration of a concept running throughout the entire narrative of Jesus' life.

Uh, why? Do you think I try to hide my religious beliefs in public or something?

No, because I had figured that people were more likely to act in a more civil way in real life than on the internet.
