What doesn't make sense to me is how an omni-benevolent God can allow a hell.

I don't believe in hell.
When I was born the doctor twisted up the facts,
he said that I was a devil son so now I'm having flashbacks.

Hell was an invention of the Catholic church.

Personally, it seems much more strange to me how a just God can allow entry into Heaven.

Hell is where sinners left to themselves go. I'm not convinced it's eternal though. http://www.helltruth.com/ is kind of swaying me into annihilationism. This is going to be my subject of study for a while, because it's always seems strange that God would Intentionally preserve their life when He's already judged them.
A mighty hand, an outstretched arm - You are the God who saves, Deliverer Your name.

As far as I'm concerned, if you're an ugly enough person to land yourself there, I will probably not miss you nor will any other human, and your heart will be so cold you probably won't even know we aren't there beside you.

As for the poor souls who don't make it to heaven due to them not "knowing Christ" or some similar reason, I've always believed that they have a second chance at the final judgements. Why else would such an event be held if everybody's fate had already been sealed?
indeed.

I dont believe in hell. My friends and family who dont believe will not be joining me in the Ressurection. While that saddens me, I much acknowldge that there is nothing I can do to force them to worship God....

There is no religion the in world that specifically states that damnation is eternal in any of the actual holy books just as an interesting point. Even in the Koran it just says "For as long as Allah wills it".
