Now anyone making more than 80k (single filer) or 160k (joint filer) will get nada.

Sadly, this needed to be done. We can't lose one vote in the Senate, and I don't see any Republican senators flipping.

Yeah, wasn't previous threshold 75k?

I’ll never understand this. Why do we care if someone very well off gets a check, especially when we plan to tax them more and get that money back anyway?

Sure, but anyone in that 81k - 99k range won't get partial payments.

Because Republicans think that 1,400 is enough to buy a house, because they're so out of touch with reality.

And again, this is all so f***ing stupid. They're still using 2019's taxes for this. Not 2020.

What someone made 2 years ago has no bearing on what their life is like today.

Previously, it started phasing out at 75k and fully phased out at 100k. It seems to now fully phase out at 80k.

Not a huge deal but.... I still dont see why they bothered changing it.

Manchin.

This is...hardly ideal and I don't like limiting it, but it could be worse, and 25 million more people are getting money than before.

The unemployment and money for parents with kids are a bigger triumph than the stimulus checks at least
