He's the Democrat equivalent to Rudy Giuliani running on "I was the mayor on 9/11!"

.....Except we're falling for it.

Giuliani was polling at #1 until the end of 2007.

Name recognition + Bernie and Warren splitting the socialist vote + The general population being really dumb. Yang is in 6th...hopefully he continues to climb up.

Not a liberal but it's easy.

35-40% of Democrats are either jaded, politically exhausted, or emotionally deflated.

The Progressive candidates are all calling for variation of Revolution or Reformation.

A solid third of Democrats don't have the energy for that and the Progressive candidates are not inviting them to get up.

Biden is not calling for big change, just reversal of Trump and the natural progression of Obama. For people who are politically undead , that is comforting.

Look at who likes and hate Biden
Hates: Young people. Activists, Revolutionaries
Like: Old people, Minorities, Moderates
All for profit and profit for all.

Because he was Obama's VP. His entire support basically starts and ends there. It's why his campaign strategy is pretty much avoiding crowds and cameras as much as he can (at least compared to other candidates) because the more people hear from him the less they like him, the same issue Hillary had. It's actually worse for Biden because every time he steps in front of a crowd or camera he puts his foot in his mouth, and lately demonstrates signs of mental degradation. At least Hillary could speak coherently, even if she had the most boring voice and cadence in the world.

His default lead may be enough for him to coast the primary, which the vast majority of voters don't pay attention to, but people will actually start paying attention in the general, then likely get depressed and stay home in great enough numbers for him to lose.

1. Low information voting majority
2. Name recognition
3. Media telling us that he is “electable”
4. Obama era nostalgia
5. Other neoliberal candidates failing to gain support.
6. Progressive candidates’ positions being misrepresented and smeared by the msm using Republican talking points.

Yep.

Basically it's Bidens race to lose.

Granted I don't think he has a good chance against Trump.

You forget how not informed people are about politics.

This ain’t a judgement on them, but since they don’t keep up I’m sure Obama’s VP sounds pretty good to them

Friends,

We need stability. after the trump roller coaster we want to relax.

Biden is that person. I just want small planned out changes.

Biden does not tweet out government policy.

Hes only a 4 year person. i look more to who he has as a VP, to make the big changes.

This person will have a full time job correcting all of trumps mistakes.

Go blue.

Because people believe he has the best shot against Trump.
Personally? I think we are on our way to 4 more years of Trump. How anyone thinks a near senile "moderate" like Biden is a good idea to run against Trump is beyond me, but that's not really my concern.

Whether Biden or Trump wins, this place would provide free entertainment for about a month.

Age is kind of a relative factor. Some people hit their 70s and they're still intelligent and energetic enough to keep up with the job, and then there are those like Trump who show significant signs of mental decline, especially when they weren't very smart to begin with.
Biden isn't looking good and he can only go downhill...

I'm not knocking Biden on age itself, but he repeatedly seems to forget incredibly basic knowledge, and we arent even in the general debates yet. It's very likely he manages to flop the debates for Trump. The bar is so low for Biden that "not s***ting on the debate stage" is considered a victory for Biden in the primaries, but that wont fly on a general election podium.

Democrats need to do better than Biden. If they don't want to, they put themselves in the most vulnerable position to Trump. If they wind up losing AGAIN, the Democratic party would just straight up be the most ineffective political party to have ever existed.
