Donald Trump by Chris Christie: "President Trump deserves great credit for daring to try to personally persuade Chairman Kim to join the family of nations. This approach holds the possibility for history–making changes on the Korean Peninsula to make us all safer."

Mitch McConnell by John Boehner: "His steady hand at the tiller of the U.S. Senate has been a source of stability for our economy and certainty in our tumultuous political process. With his mastery of parliamentary procedure and commitment to principled democratic governance, he has shaped the direction of the Supreme Court for generations to come."

Brett Kavanaugh by Mitch McConnell: "The country saw his resilience and commitment to public service. We saw his loyal devotion to family and friends. We saw his undeterred reverence for the law, for precedents and for our nation’s highest traditions. It is all these qualities combined that make Justice Kavanaugh exactly the kind of jurist whom the American people deserve on our Supreme Court. I look forward to many years of brilliant, distinguished public service."

William Barr by Rod Rosenstein: "Now Barr returns to public service with a hearty sense of humor, a lifetime of wisdom and a valuable perspective about the Department of Justice. He knows the history, he understands the issues, he respects the employees, and he will defend the principles. With Bill Barr at the helm, the rule of law is secure."

At least there's some good writeups of AOC, Greta Thunberg and Jacinda Ardern.

To be fair the TIME 100 wasn't supposed to celebrate the 100 best people, just acknowledge the 100 most influential. But that kind of went out of the window when they were too scared to choose Osama in 2001.

Pretty sure their office would have been bombed if they actually did that right after 9/11.

Maybe so, but journalistic courage isn't easy. The fact that they couldn't tell the obvious truth highlights a huge issue in American society at the time (even still now to an extent).

This is really something else:

Mitch McConnell by John Boehner: "His steady hand at the tiller of the U.S. Senate has been a source of stability for our economy and certainty in our tumultuous political process. With his mastery of parliamentary procedure and commitment to principled democratic governance, he has shaped the direction of the Supreme Court for generations to come."

The only commitment McConnell has is getting the US as close as possible to absolute rule by the GOP donor class as quickly as possible.
