If the tariffs f*** up Walmart I'll give a win to Trump

No, tariffs should be helping the American worker, but it's making things worse.

Why?

Because Trump's economic strategies are based on his ego, and punishing leaders he doesn't personally like (Like Canada), and are not based on research or careful diplomacy or the needs of American workers.

Here's an analogy:
Basically it's like China is like slicing us with a thousand paper cuts...so you go to doctor Trump to fix you up - but instead of treating the paper cuts with antiseptic and stitches, he gives you a bunch of morphine and then amputates your leg.

Brick and mortar stores already have a hard time. Trump's trade war might as well be an execution for some companies.

Hahaha, walmart won't go under. No need to panic !

All that will happen is that the price of 60% of their goods (60% of their goods are made in China) will go up.

So Americans will buy more American goods and quit buying easily breakable cheap Chinese crap. The price of food will remain the SAME.
NOTHING to concern yourself with.

Walmart will lose some profits.

and I promise, sincerely,
if they do decide to shut their doors, I'll take over their entire business and steal alllllll of their potential profits. Okay? Then I'll be the super rich person in the place of that corrupt family and then we'll never have this threatening discussion again about profits.

Everyone feel better, now? ♥

The world's going to be okay, everyone. Walmart is upset about their pocket books and they want you to help them get their money back. It's no big deal everybody. Put the tears away.

Really? American farmers are struggling and Trump signed a $12 billion pay out to "support them" that the tax payers will end up paying for out of their own pocket down the line.

What are you talking about? Prices of American goods have gone up.

So are you saying prices of american goods have gone up in general unrelated to inflation?

The subject though is that american food prices will remain the same or be cheaper if you account for inflation, gas price fluctuation. and local disasters.

Thanks for the response

I only returned to let everyone know something very important:

f*** Walmart

You know what else hits "regular" Americans hard?

The rich oligarchical family controlling Wal f***ing Mart, responsible for vast amounts of resources being poured into overseas coffers while lacing their own pockets so much that they have the gall to refer to the common people as f***ing "regulars"/"normies".

f*** walmart, anti patriotic sons of b****es

Sounds like we should line up to give them another tax break.

yeah

what wal-mart has done to overhaul their e-commerce over the past year or two is nothing short of amazing though.

In the short run, it will hurt.

In the long run, it's a necessity.

Do you guys realize that we still treat China as a developing nation (with the benefits that goes along with that classification) in WTO?

Or that, for an American (or any foreign firm) to do business in China, we have insane terms (including having to form partnership with Chinese companies, not being able to take money out of China, constant threats of "shutdowns for inspections/rule infraction" for political reasons, threats to give up corporate secrets, including technology and source codes, etc etc)?
