20 hours a week? 20 hours a week?!?! When will there be time for anything else?!?!
I never saw a brute I hated so; He must be wicked to deserve such pain.

I'm not against volunteering in principle but the way this will actually work out is these people will just get basically held hostage for their benefits and forced to work some absolute trash job at McDs or a retail store or something for no money, giving a massive handout to corporations and helping them to lay off even more people since they now have a captive source of slave labour that they don't have to pay a cent for. I should know because they already did it here in the UK.

How is minimum wage equatable to nothing? Millions of people work retail or fast-food jobs. This isn't slave labor, it's being paid for the job you're doing. I'm sorry that reality is such a burden to you in terms of employment. Not everybody is going to start off making 50,000$ with full benefits right out of high-school. At the end of the day, if you don't like your job....look for another one you're not a slave. You're free to leave anytime.

People wanted socialism that's what they will get.

It is actually really offensive anyone would use the concept of slavery on this topic.

Employment training programs are not free.

Neither is free college, free food, free, housing, free phones, free.... Opps did I just say that?

If nothing else, the volunteer work is fair labor in return for the check they're receiving. As long as they're not making disabled people work. This is no different from new deal era government work programs.
How deep is too deep?

That is when we get into a very touchy area.
