Looks like Deus Ex Mankind Divided + Dishonored in a Vampiric setting. I love it.

*Poor game play by journalist.
I wish they would release gameplay by someone who has held a controller before.

The Gamespot gameplay is alright outside of a couple of lengthy pauses

Cool, didn’t know about it, I’ll check it out!
Despite the ign gameplay, I’m still hyped for this. As long as the stories & choices live up to the first I’ll be more than happy. I’m also mildly worried they’ll take their selves to seriously & it won’t have the humor of the first’s.

Edit: Thanks! That was MUCH better.

it's always such an odd thing to me...when the first gameplay footage, usually by a gaming journalist...it is almost always terrible. It actually does look like what happens if someone let their grandmother play a game...or anyone else from an older generation that has never held a controller before.

Fortunately, I think most people recognize at this point that it's rarely the faults of the game when this kind of footage is the first gameplay that is shown.

Pretty good showing of why you don't let journalists play your game. You can tell the IGN reporter didn't even have their right thumb on the stick most the time. How do these people become journalists when they literally don't know how to hold a controller?

Anyway, game looks...mediocre right now. Animations are stiff with the facial animations in particular being nonexistent. Also, what the hell was that spin move flip? Did a double take when I saw how entirely worthless (not to mention weird-looking) the move was, but then it kept getting repeated. I guess the developers wanted to make you look nimble while fighting, but considering it was the only move of its like shown, considering how little it did, and considering how pathetic it looked, you just wind up looking like an imbecile. World reactivity is pretty hit or miss as well and looks a little too scripted. For example you've got this cool power to turn into a mist, which allows you to travel through vent systems. But what about these wide iron bars the guy you're chasing just went by? Nope, your power is used for pre-staged scripted locations which look identical and weren't developed for even the most basic common sense logic option. Or the fire. The IGN player takes one jump and nose-dives directly into a flaming barrel. No reaction.

We'll see if they can smooth things out within the next year, but I don't expect many of these issues to be addressed.
The game is looking nice, I can't wait.
It was foretold by gyromancy!
