Like the title says. I'm planning on being the Steel-type Gym Leader for a Discord server I'm in. I have no idea what's best since I beat the game a couple days ago, and have only had it for 5-6 days total. I would like to include Lucario at the least. Thank you in advance, fellow gamefaqers.

PS, I'd like either a detailed list with EVs, moves, etc. or a pokemonshowdown team link. This is for singles btw.

Lucario is always fun because of the surprisingly wide variety of moves it can learn.
Top 10: TP > BotW > BD > BS: EL > DQIX > ALttP > FFXIII > HK > FE: PoR > DPP

Corviknight
Lucario
Excadrill
Aegislash
Togedemaru
Duraludon

I'll think up some detailed sets later. Consider this a placeholder.

@ai123 What would be my main Dmax/Gmax user, by any chance?

Weakness Exploit, Max Rockfall. Possible +2 Attack and Sandstorm in a single round.
I love Monster Hunter so much that I made a Gameplay Music Video

As a lover of gimmicks I'd see if I could make a trick room sand team. My initial thought is that steel types have defense and power, so the speed they get with trick room, plus sand chip, plus stealth rock, plus Copperajah's gmax steel stealth rocks, it sounds fun to me on paper. I haven't thought this through at all though

I guess that would go something like,
Bronzong (trick room setter)
Steelix
Copperajah
Klinklang (secondary trick room setter)
Corviknight
Bisharp/Escavalier/Duraludon (Duraludon is "fast" but trick room only lasts four turns, if you switch out into a pokemon to take advantage to it that's only three turns, so it's possible, perhaps likely, that you find yourself in a position where you can use a faster pokemon after trick room is over/ your trick roomers have been killed).

Again, I haven't though this through at all. This is top of the head.

Ferrothorn @ Iron Barbs
Held Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Att
0 IVs In Speed
Gyro Ball
Power Whip
Leech Seed
Protect

It's pretty much unkillable if the opponent does not have a Fire attack.

The thing about Dynamax is that, unlike Megas, you can make that decision on the fly. It would depend on what your opponent has/does. Thinking about it, I much prefer Ferrothorn over Excadrill.

Corvinkight@Leftovers
Mirror Armor
Impish: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Brave Bird
Body Press
Roost
Iron Defence

Lucario@Shuca Berry
Inner Focus
Jolly: 252 Atk/4 Sp Def/252 Speed
Close Combat
Meteor Mash
Bullet Punch
Protect

Ferrothorn@Wide Lens
Iron Barbs
Relaxed: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Power Whip
Gyro Ball
Leech Seed
Protect

Aegislash@Weakness Policy
Modest: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Sp Atk
Shadow Ball
Flash Cannon
King's Shield
Substitute

Togedemaru@Focus Sash
Lightning Rod
Jolly: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Speed
Fake Out
Nuzzle
Zing Zap
Iron Head

Duraludon@Assault Vest
Stalwart for Doubles, Light Metal for Singles
Modest: 252 HP/252 Sp Atk/4 Sp Def
Draco Meteor
Thunderbolt
Flash Cannon
Dark Pulse

I kept the EV spreads simple, and there's nothing weird here. Maybe the Wide Lens on Ferro, but that is to reduce the chances of missing with Power Whip, which is pretty much the only thing that stops Gastrodon from wrecking the team on its own.

I assume this is singles?

  1. Ferrothorn (You need a water resistance or you get cleaned by rain teams) Spikes setter.
  2. Heatproof Bronzong (Until Heatran is available you need a fire neutrality. This can also be used to set up Stealth Rock to weaken Fire-types.
  3. Corviknight. Ground immunity very crucial to Steel teams.
  4. Excadrill, preferably scarf to be able to check faster Fire types with either Earthquake or Rock Slide.
  5. Aegislash. This is your Fighting immunity which completes the defensive synergy of the team.
  6. Lucario/Duraludon is your special attacker
Even the very thought of opposition will not be tolerated!

Bring Bronzong. Heatproof is good if you want a fire switchin. He can also trick room if you like that strat.

Otherwise use levitate
