Hey guys I hunt for a shiny Dreepy with the Masuda Method.
I have a question about this.
I have my own Dreepy and one from a wondertrade from Japan.
Do I need two Dreepy of other countries or just one?
And it is ok to wondertrade in the meantime?
It’s my first shiny hunt.
Oh and I don‘t have a shiny charm and only 4 badges

Only one needs to be from a different region (or more precisely a game that uses different language for e.g American - Japan). So as long as you're not from Japan, it'll work.

This must be why I only get Dreepy from Surprise Trades.

As last long as the two pokemon are from different language regions, than Masuda Method will work. So, one of them being yours is fine. You can surprise trade in the meantime, it won't change your odds. It would be best to wait until you had the shiny charm though, just so you get the best odds.

As long as the two Dreepy don’t originate from the same country it’s fine. It could be an ENG a JPN one, or a JPN and GER one, or ENG and CHS. All the same. But two JPN Dreepy in your file would originate from the same country, and Masuda wouldn’t work.

You can multitask, it’s fine. Wonder trading won’t mess anything up.

Should he fine without shiny charm, the masuda odds don’t improve all that much with it. One in 682 without, with is 512.

It can take 700, or it could take a couple thousand. Your odds are better with MM, but it can still take a long time. Or you could get really lucky and hatch it under odds.

Your odds are roughly 1/680.

That does NOT mean that you are guaranteed a shiny for every 680 you breed. The 680th will still have 1/680 odds.

It means that on average, one should appear every 680.

Long story short, keep going. It's a long haul, even with the best odds. I've scored shinies in less than ten, and I've gone dry for 4000+. Just gotta keep at it.
