We've known this since June.
The official website page in question:

https://swordshield.pokemon.com/en-us/gameplay/wild-area/

In the Wild Area, there is a chance that you’ll run into powerful wild Pokémon! These Pokémon are constantly on their guard—in fact, you won’t even be able to throw a Poké Ball at them when first starting your adventure.

Topics like this one have cropped up numerous times since June and I’m guessing we’ll continue to get them for a while after release.

Considering you can run into level 50+ monsters the moment you enter the Wild Area, this was kind of a necessity.

I mean they could just make them not obey.

Given that you get experience for capturing monsters, capturing something that's level 50 while your party is only level 10 would cause you to earn far more experience than you should be getting.

I’m 110% fine with this and I dare anyone to attack it

its a balance thing, don’t wanna catch Machoke in a quickball when you only have Lv 8 Pokémon

This is the option if people want open areas. Not sure why everyone is surprised. They can't have you encountering level 30 Pokemon after your first badge.. and blocking off areas wouldn't make this open area like fans seem to demand.

Doesn't bother me.

The issue is that people are encountering these Pokemon either way. The game is just not letting you catch them but you still battle these Pokemon.

They could've just done what they did in the past. Have Pokemon disobey orders if their level is too high for the amount of badges you have. Imagine missing out on a shiny.

Disobedience has never affected Pokemon with you as an OT. You can control a Level 100 with 0 badges if it isn't a traded Pokemon.

My bad. I meant to specify that it was through trades. But instead of restricting catching overall, they should've just did what they did for traded Pokemon. That way if a trainer comes across a high leveled rare Pokemon, they can still be able to catch and train it.

This was also discussed on this board before but because gameplay topics quickly sink to the bottom in favor of complaint topics, I'm not surprised most people missed it.

f***ing stupid, that’s what a catch rate % is for. This completely eliminates risk/reward.

Okay, if this is because of the Wild Area, why not just restrict you from catching high leveled stuff in the Wild Area only, or have it be the high level Pokemon not show up until you have a certain number of badges.

Damnit, I'm blaming you 'open wooooorld' fanatics for this.
