A lot of people say "lol they're reusing models" without even knowing the kind of work that goes into making new textures on these models and making them look good, or even the effort that goes into making a game. Even just Dynamaxing the act of making the models bigger requires a new texture for each Pokemon. You can't just enlarge something and expect it to look good.

Considering the time constraint they are constantly under to make Pokemon games is it a wonder why Ultra Sun and Moon feel as rushed and nothing as they did compared to other 3rd version games.
Pokemon was overbloated and either Pokemon needs to slow down a bit for developers to work not just on all the Pokemon being games but just the overall design and flow of the game, which is why I think the games tend to feel more linear now a days.

They really do need to slow development down I think. That I 100% agree with.

There was outrage when people couldn't transfer their mons from Gen 2 to Gen 3. There would have been a reaction no matter when it happened.
Patience.

People sure do like to rage about things that are made purely for entertainment.

Eventually they would make a national dex game since they know that would create a lot of hype and bring in the big bucks.

I could see this happening with another barren XY style gen where hey all the Pokemon are there but f all in game or post game. They'd get those SSBU style points with everyone but it'd be another empty ish game.
27 pronged approach! We weren't gonna shoot it ALL into space, that's what the other prongs were for! Stupid...

Was limited from the start? Like by game or gen, each has its own pool of pokemon and then there was some cross over but it was never a giant collection?

We would maybe have better graphics for pokemon and moves, legendaries might hold more weight if they were limited per gen too. I dunno. Just a thought.

Probably. One big reason for the stagnation of Pokemon is the work on the models after all. It's rather ironic that people want what's essentially been DLC since gen 2 over actual game design changes.

Like let's be real. The reason why the dev time isn't as long as it could be is because the merchandise + the other Pokemon products is more profitable than the actual games and whatever is used to transfer Pokemon from other games. If Pokebank was actually that big of a profit, they wouldn't be making a decision that jeopardizes Pokemon Home like they are doing. If they really think that not having every Pokemon in one game would cut that deep into sales of the SwSh, they wouldnt say it will never be a thing for future games.

No.
Better alternatives are better ban lists, more special competitions, and less focus on a national dex (which was fixed in gen 7).

which is why you don't make so many new games in the first place
If locking online play behind a paywall with irrelevant games is a service then bricking your phone and not removing the brick without a fee is also a service.

SIXTEEN MILLION COPIES SOLD OF SUN AND MOON

If they need a longer dev cycle, they could have staggered releases of multiple teams

Oh no they need a few new textures how could they possible handle this workload with a franchise that has NINETY BILLION DOLLARS IN REVENUE since launch

They have the money to do this, they are either greedy, incompetent, or lazy, probably all 3.
