The game is still great and I don't regret my purchase -- even got the artbook.

That said, a dip of 5 FPS is not noticeable. The framerate issues are because it dips 30 (THIRTY) FPS, and often.

https://youtu.be/bWW5E-EgkUU?t=499 - For those who don't play games that actually have good FPS AND frame times. Playing Link's Awakening, it really bothered me for several hours and then I "got used to it" and was able to enjoy the game. Just because you're used to it doesn't mean it isn't there.

This all could have been very easily solved by locking the FPS to 30 -- since it never seems to really dip below 30. A constant 30 FPS looks and feels much smoother than 60FPS with drops to 30.

It just makes you look silly to defend or pretend that there isn't an issue -- almost like... let's turn this around...

almost like you don't care enough about Zelda to think it deserves better optimization. ... not a true fan?

Game consistently drops to 30 fps when switching zones. Painfully obvious when near the Witches House. Problem happens much worse on handheld than docked, at least from what I've experienced.

You are simplifying this issue as well, the graphics in this game are not high polygon or texture detail. There isn't much reason a game like this should even be experiencing FPS drops.

While I can generally tell the difference between 30 and 60 FPS in games, I have to admit that after a short while of looking at those two marquees, I swear they both pretty much look the same to me.

I tend not to care about low/high FPS that much in games, but I do tend to notice FPS inconsistencies, so yeah, I kinda do wish they had just capped this game at 30 if they couldn't resolve the dips any other way.
