I would say no. Fighting games as a genre isn't very casual friendly.

While this is true, MK is very easy to play and isn’t deep compared to most fighters

This game is even more braindead than King of Fighters XIV, which is a feat considering that game is perfect for children to get into fighting games.

This game has the Krypt, doesn't it? You know, the mode full of mobile gaming s*** like RNG and lootboxes. I am pretty sure the competitive FGC doesn't care about that s***, yet here it is in MK 11.

There is a significant difference between a player that is familiar with fighters and a player that isn’t when they play MK.

It really isn't, I agree KoF XIV is an easy fighting game for fighter beginners however online they'd get ripped apart easily at first... well if the online was booming which it isnt...

No fighting game is 'casual' as you need to put in a hell lotta work to become even moderately good. That includes mk11 as well.

Fighting games are simply not meant for casuals, unless its the single player stuff. The skill barrier to entry is way higher compared to , say, fps games.

Kof has 3 different types of jumps, a s*** load of mechanics and tight execution. It is one of the more complex fighting games out there. Sf5 is a hell lot simpler, but still far from a 'casual' friendly game...
