From V onwards. I think the utmost pinnacle of SRW was during the Alpha era, and nothing else has really topped it since. Maybe it's just nostalgia googles, but I don't feel the power of the series as much as I used to.

Anyone else feel this way?

Maybe you just need a break too?

Alpha 1 was great.

Alpha2... Always hated how it brought dmg sponges in srw.

Or was it impact l that brought dmg sponges?

You know... Enemies over 65k hp. Before... No one has more hp than that

And even 300-500k in final stages. Ugggh!

Also forgot to say...

This game has evolved a lot in both gameplay and presentation

And the presentation... It's all sooooo good.

I don't even think I can go back to playing older games.

The jump is even more apparent for some cast. Like dunbine.... Last game i played with dunbine was srw impact.

So seeing them here now and the improvements... My gosh. New games are brilliant

It’s not just you. This trilogy has been a downhill slope.

They just need to come through with an all-new cast and make the OG villains actually...yaknow...threatening. We should get more of their interactions and see what they’re doing behind the scenes.

I love SRW, I do. But it’s getting harder and harder to justify these purchases as we’ve proceeded from V, imo.
I finally found my keys! I looked all over my house but they were actually right here on the counter! Silly me!

They should just make this games every other year and that way, they can have a lot of material to come up with and make a proper game. Also, the OG characters good and bad need to improve in designs and their story, have a design like the ones in DD, they look awesome, not the cheap material they are making recently. And insert more bad guys to the equation, I feel there’s almost not baddy in this games.

This. My last traditional SRW before taking break was Z2-2, and when I'm back to V last year, it feels very unique and epic because of Yamato. T is also great because of G Gundam, Gun X Sword and Rayearth.

Looking forward to play X, crossing finger for discount in days of play.

These games are now forced under a development schedule of like 9 months and the graphics standards have risen drastically because of the HD era - during the Alpha 1 era they still usually get like dev periods of 2-3 years so they didn't have to cut corners as much.

edit: And yes - burnout is definitely in play. If you play every single game in the series you're going to see Amuro, Kamille, Ryoma and Kouji over and over and over and over again and even Marvel superheroes aren't as oversaturated at how unchanging the SRW series can be.

Combination of a little bit of nostalgia but mostly burn out IMO.

Only one I'd consider somewhat of a let down has been X.

I'm taking a break from the series since Z3.2 and I can agree on the burnout.

I've played a little of one 3DS title and one PS4 and they were nice.

Maybe I'll come back when the next OG comes around (haven't played MD, too).
