Does anyone miss stages that seriously made you seriously consider the terrain?

When I played earlier titles I hated water stages and got annoyed when I had to submerge units so they wouldn't get shredded by beams but for some insane reason I actually kind of miss that tactical dimension.

I've loved the ps4 srws but this one part makes it feel a little bit flat.

I wouldn't mind grunts that can go toe to toe with your guys on normal difficulty instead of the usual curb stomb battles.

or those asteroid fields

and i hate it when it feels like you have to use SP outside of bosses. i shouldn't need help dodging or hitting no-face grunts using sp commands. they're just nobodies.

i love that strategy here is loose.

which means there's plenty of room for personal style.

it's not like a chess puzzle where there's usually only 1 solution.

anyway... super robot wars is more about the spectacle anyway. this isn't like total war or civ or starcraft

and that's why i play this and i don't play those games

Yes I miss those stages. There's no point in using Getter 3 now. Land units are just as mobile as fly units, making minovsky craft useless.

They're still useful for Nu Gundam and other Funnel users due to Funnels typically having a B rating in Air.

I don't think I've played one so far where the terrain is all that important.

And that's probably a good thing. Sounds annoying.

you know what i miss about terrain tho...

Yeah. I love stage with a bunch of terrain effect. Even better if they bring back Impact / MX style map. You know, like destroying a wall to make a shortcut or you could enter a different map by reaching a certain tile.

oh yah, i remember that.

it was interesting

... another i don't miss tho. squads.

im glad these games went back to just single units

now if it will only come back to enemies only having a maximum of 65,000 HP... that would be awesome, just like it was pre-alpha 2
