Can't believe even watering cans have to have durability. What causes it to break, the weight of water inside or something?

The town's water is flammable, because environmental regulations would hurt Tom's profits.

With the Fishing Tourney today, it seems there's a new discovery: Fishing rods don't break while the 3 minute timer is running.

Haven't tested any exact numbers, but it seems similar to rocks paying out: If, at the moment the rod would break, the timer is still running, then the breaking doesn't happen.

Yeah, I had an oddly low number of rods break during the entirety of the Fishing Tourney for me (I think only 2 rods broke), and I well exceeded 300 fish. And, of course, I wasn't using a golden fishing rod, just standard fishing rods I made using the normal DIY recipe.

fishing tourney def halts fishing rod breaking during the timer. i made a second just in case it broke in the middle of the timer and it never did. but it always broke if i caught after/when the timer went to 0 or accidentally threw it at something during the period of the timer running out and going back to opt in again.

Do the alternate slingshots have any other properties that justify the price? The regular one has the same durability but its priced like a "flimsy" tier durability.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

What about all the new things the nook boys sell in their shop? Like the colorful pole and the outdoorsman pole?

Nope. If you're going purely for bang-for-your-buck, just buy default slingshots.

These are documented in my guide as "alternative tools", also indicated on the infographics with the "rainbow" silhouette. This means they have the same exact durability as "normal" tools. They are also customizable, just like normal tools.
