So far, I’d say New Leaf had a better start, but New Horizons has a lot of potential through future updates.
This right here for me. It's a solid 8/10 experience as it is right now, but it definitely feels like they intend to ease features in over time, especially holidays.
The ability for tools to break is fine at the start, but once you get to late-game, there needs to be a way to acquire permanent tools. My fishing rod breaking every 20 casts is not immersive. The crafting system otherwise is actually a lot of fun, but it definitely needs tweaking, like mass crafting simple items or accessing the storage.
The lack of hourly tunes until over a week in is genuinely making the main music grating.
