I liked how he moved faster in 2016. I know they slowed him down due to the new dash mechanic but still. I liked being able to just melee zombies twice for a glory kill as well.

Platforming, or lack thereof. Not saying the level design was better in 2016, it just is sometimes annoying to break pace with platforming in Eternal.

I specifically hated those stupid jump rings on Urdak.

2016 had better gore and boss fights. Also powerups going unused was more rare, for me

Next Is multiplayer battle mode is cool but a death match and ffa to me is always a staple for any multiplayer game. I know 2016 wasn’t all that good but they had a solid foundation and could’ve built from that and also kept battle mode as the 3rd mode
What the f*** lol, Doom has always been cartoony with its enemy designs. No way are you taking the OGs seriously besides Barons/Cacodemons/Cyberdemon/Spider Mastermind/Arachnotrons/Mancubus/Revenants. There is a certain charm to them. You don't fear their designs, you fear their power. Make sure you have the ammo count for the bastards too.

Yes it is accurate but according to everyone else it’s supposed to be like the classics which I think looks worse

Enemy design is basically taken straight from the Doom 2 source material. The soldiers with the green hair, the Mancubus, the Pain Elemental, Arch Vile are all stylized from the older games.

In fact the retro/arcade style of Doom Eternal is the best part about the game to me and the overall art style is way more unique, charming and Doom like compared to '16, which was going for a Doom 3 type aesthetic.
